I think that is a fair price also. If it is all straight original steel, it's a really good price IMO. Ch***is work, engine and trans swaps, interior and wiring are all easy stuff.
34k would be a bargain for a running and driving car if it is in the condition that it appears to be in compared to what are basically hulks with 20+K asking prices.
I'm not saying the that Corvair suspension ever was a great idea, but...... The early '60s Olds F-85, Buick Special, and Pontiac tempest used Corvair front suspension. All those cars were available with either an aluminum 215 V-8, or a heavier iron 326 V-8, and they weren't prone to suspension failure. If road-going durability mattered, given the choice of Corvair suspension vs the older straight axles that commonly used whimpy little Anglia spindles, I would chose the Corvair pieces. I do understand you point. I think Mustang suspension gets used on applications where something robust should be used. I saw a TV program where Mustang suspension was put under a small school buss! The school bus belonged to John Force, and the "overhaul" was done as a surprise for him. He acted ok about it, but I wonder how he really felt about what they did to his buss.
