Just got this truck back and it needs some help to say the least. still runs like a raped ape but its ugly as heck. Could someone Photoshop it for me a little. The wheels gotta go the blue paints gotta go and I think it would look better without the extended cab part. I think a longer bed would look better. I wish I had fenders for it. I got it as a ____ rod and I was trying to make it a nicer truck, then I sold it and all the cooler parts got sold and the new owner did all this. Now i got it back in a trade and I thought about fixing it up as a driver till I get my model A coupe built. I tried a very bad attempt at using paint to photoshop it but it didn't turn out so well. Just trying to come up with a better plan of attack with it. The truck has a 5" chop.
there is a huge photoshop thread here. maybe someone there can help you out. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=300531
well its a 36 cab. Not sure on the grill whether its a 36 or actually a different year. Its registered as a 36. It was built out of parts. The bed is parts of a 53 ford truck bed. I'm probably going to build a new bed out of new sheet metal. Unless I can find some stock 36 truck stuff.
Do you know what the name of the photo shop thread is? I haven't been on here in a while so I'm not familiar with it I don't think.
Did the bigger size trucks have the curved bottoms? I new some bigger truck cabs back then had more squared off bottoms.
That looks a little bit better. Prolly needs a longer bed. and I like black wheels or I've got a set of old slots that might look good on it. Wish I had fenders for it. Put it back together as a full size pickup but that would be alot more work than I have the stuff to fix it with. I have a set of hood sides to it also I've been thinking about running the exhaust under the truck and taking the lakes headers off since they are cracked up from the vibration of the engine.
I guess I'm going to get to measuring and find out how much I've got to cut outa this thing to get it looking better. I almost said right, but it will never be right Lol.
Naw its a 3/16" 3x2 rectangle tube frame thats Z'd I think 9" in front and I can't remember what the rear is done I think somewhere around 15"-18" With coil spring rear suspension. It has 5 or 6" of suspension travel in the rear. the front is a modified chevy truck front axle ford wishbones and leaf spring setup. It also has an aluminum reversed corvair steering box also. It drives pretty good except it needs front shocks and maybe a leaf removed to make it a little softer in front. When I owned it once before I had a set of aftermarket steel wheels that used late 30's- early 40's dog dish hubcaps and ribbed trim rings with bias ply wide whites. I always thought it would look better with black steel wheels or wires with some taller black wall bias plys.
I also used it as a daily driver when I had it before. But the ext cab part has always been ugly on it. I thought it was neat at first because of the extra room but now the neat has worn off. So I'm ready to cut it up.
