Motor is mounted and grill and radiator are mocked and tacked and the hood is test fitted, steering box/column mounted, battery tray is potsied in and some of the paint is buffed. Good start, 2 more weeks and lots to do..
One more pic before I retire.

Man those were a couple of marathon days! still a TON to do, but the motor is in! It barely fits..... Kail and Potsie are rulers! Thank you guys!

Next big hurdle is the rear..... I have an old chrome banjo.... I need to get it sorted out and convert it back to closed drive.... then we need to shorten the torque tube and drive shaft.... hopefully we can get that in this week.... and then its all just connecting dots with wires and lines......

On the paint I just used some rubbing compound and the buffer.... hit it pretty hard.... works good and is pretty easy..... It will look pretty cool all shined up!

Great work guys!!! That olds looks like it's stuffed right in there and I love the fact that you're going with a banjo with the torque tube. Mmmmm, chrome banjo.....tasty.

Let me know what rubbing compound you used. I never buffed anything before but my '35 could use it to brighten up the old red paint on it.

Did you get your measurements figured out? Do you need me to go measure that TT and driveshaft?

Wow, Bob, you guys are doing a great job. Can't wait to see this thing finished. It looks awesome.

Good luck, and keep thrashing on it.

  12. Thats what I did to my 41, got some 3M rubbing compound and laid into it with a buffer. Turned out great for shitty 50 year old paint. Your pickup is looking mean, and that Olds will be rad. Mines all bark with no bite.

Bobs a bad ass for sure. Go ahead, look up 'bad ass' in the dictionary. A picture of Bob will undoubtedly be found nearby.
