I have a set of stainless steel 19" Model A wheels. I was wondering if anyone can relace a Model A hub on to a 16" rim.
Doesn't sound quite right. If the wheels are stainless, they would be valuable and not candidates for modification. Could easily trade for some seriously rare and valuable replacements of any size. Good Luck: Fred A
Believe it or not these were populr in the 40's-50's, (maybe earlier?) they made a comback in mid to late 70's during the resto rod period, I had 2, but couldn't find others, an old dude at Okie Joes Auto Salvage in Stockton Ca used to make them, used 30 A centers and 16" rims, these wheels were featured in the mag's of the time. didn't last long and faded away, havn't seen them in yrs. Good looking wheels
I went with 34 wires on my A and there 16 inch. These are bolt on without modifications. You wont have any problem trading if it's what you want to do.
Thanks guys. Appreciate the input especially Chopper Cliff. I currently have a bunch of wheel options in my stash. I have a couple sets of 16" Ford wires, 15" and 16" Ford steelies, and even a set of 49 Mercs with pork-pie hubcaps but I really like the look of the original wires. Still hoping for a lead.
