    Hey guys,
my buddy just picked up the 60 chevy apache he wants to rod it out but he is undecided on what to do, we would like to either see it satin black with red smoothies and wide whites or satin powder blue with chrome smoothies and wide whites. please o' photo shop kings give us something to make a decision on!

p.s. the side pipes and horrible wheels on it now have already been torn off!

I cant photoshop that, but IMO your friends should go with the blue and chrome idea. Please no satin black. But to each in his own. I think that it would also look good all the way to the ground, and maybe a tiny chop.

    ill photochop it tomorrow

but i just HAD to say dont go black and red

if it were mine id go 60's style...like it is.

maybe a heavy flaked roof with a mild flake or metallic body color. then load on the scallops...not too busy but not too simple. then maybe some radir's or astro's with skinny whites. maybe lime green base with forest green scallops that have a little flake in them.

or maybe some caddy caps and wide whites, but im not sure how that would look.

it needs airbags and some 22in. billet wheels. Boyds maybe? MUAHHAHAHAHAH! just kidding. I think some chrome reversed steelies like the ones wheel vintiques sells. And some skinny whites. Then maybe a suede color like blue with a different color top, silver flake maybe? or shiny white like Wimbeldon white? And slam it. Actually I think Radirs would look really good too. Whatever you do, lower it lots.

all wonderful ideas, but let me see it with my own eyes guys!...lol nice job ploom, how bout a sky blue?

  7. Go more aggressive, blackwalls, chromed OEM wheels, Chunky lime gold metallic or microflake, could go shiny or flattened. black scallops, and drop it. Plain old black vinly interior, everything inside black.

    bably blue pfpht!:D

  8. Maybe somthing like this? Hey look, the old truck in the back magically disappeared! :D

  9. Man I see s truck like that and all I can think of is Kandy Root Beer Brown with Gold scalops, 14" Supreme Wheels and thin white walls.

    Seriously!

  10. Nothing wrong w/ flat black...provided you don't go w/ red wheels. Heck, nothing wrong w/ that if it's what he wants. It's his truck, afterall.

Flat black w/ black steelies, chrome lug nuts and spiders, and wide whites. Simple, clean, mean, and easy to respray when someone backs into it...which they always do.

That said, Astros and kandy/flake sure fits em' well too.

Hey, that IS a 60! The later model hood fooled me, original 1960-61 Apache hoods look like this:

That makes a BIG difference in the looks. The 60-61 grilles look good, with the smooth lower pan and the dual headlights, but that hood! Eeeew! Your buddy's off to a good start there.
