Awhile back I was working on the rh door gl*** of my 33 and found wrote on inner door panel, "this car was redone Nov.1986 by Tommy Chapman. in Charleston, SC."' I thought this was pretty neat seeing that I bought the car from Chopt34 and he was in Texas, not sure where he got it but I think he told me that he understood the car came from up around Greensboro NC or lower VA. back in the late 60s. Well, last week while digging some rust out of the inner rocker I found some evidence that she may have been around Omaha, Nebraska around 1965, Pretty cool I think. Check out the date on top of the page. Tommy

That is a great find Tommy! Thanks for sharing!
I first came across the car in Greensboro, but missed it the first time, one year later I found it up for sale in Alabama, I brought it home to Washington state to start the transition, then I moved to Texas. I love finding little surprises like that.

I did trade it to a friend. He's got way to many toys, never ran a tank of gas through it. It was gone about 4 months and I couldn't hardly stand myself. Got it back, been driving the **** out of it. My son and I filled her up three times this past weekend, doing a couple toy runs this coming weekend. Gathering parts for some winter projects. I've got to have a clutch pedal. :D:D:D Chris, I wish you were close by, I would love for you to drive her now.

Hey Chris, did you get off of eBay? Am I remembering that right?

BTW, you need to bring one of your jewels to the Revolution. PM me.

I'm in Charleston and that name sounds familiar....I'll ask some of my old guy buddies who were around in '86 and see what they know..

    Neat car, btw.. -Abone.

Very cool to find stuff like that in a car. Kinda adds a certain "provenance" to the string of ownership. I've managed to be lucky enough to bump into and chat with former owners of my '40 Ford Coupe going back to the late 60's-early 70's. Always learn something new each time.

    Ryan,
I have never bought any cars off EBay, I firs saw it in an Recycler cl***ified back in '98-99, it looked a lot different when I first found it.

Tommy, I am glad to see you have made all of the improvements with your talents, I am glad to hear you are enjoying the car!

That is a neat way to signature your car with writing some thing inside the door. I think I might do that to mine.Just for info I got my project of Ebay in a neighboring town. Not trying to steal your thread tat is a great story. Thanks for sharing.
