okay guys..i was planning to post some pictures when the frame was powdercoated.
it is time for that very soon.
i have my friend Buddy 38flattie helping me to do the right transmission. we needed to find out how to make the sideshifter ford fit the caddyflat. Pat from Wilcap is now working on the right adapter.
but the most important thing, was that i now have the full length of the engine and transmission. so that we could finnish the engine mounts.
cant wait to have the body back on the frame again.
    couple of pictures
    thanks for the kind words

If you're working that hard to perfect the parts of the car that won't really be seen, I can't wait to see how you do on the stuff that is in your face.
I don't think the car could be in better hands.

  4. I've got an article on this car in an older Hot Rod magazine, and the person who wrote the article had no idea where the car was now. Glad to know its safe in Denmark.

    Thanks

    Hi Jeff!

i started collectings cadflat parts years ago, long before I had the car. so i now have this luxury problem ha ha. what would you guys do!?

  12. I LOVE Edmunds manifolds and that is what I run on my cad mill.I love the look and performance and the history.I have a pretty sweet Edmunds manifold for a flathead caddy that I just discovered in a shed.I have had it for a long time and it was burried. It is made for 2x2 with a four bolt pattern just like I have on my 331.

Awesome Palle!! love seeing the progress.. Mr. Stewart will be proud!!

  15. I'll get it scanned sometime this weekend. It might just end up being in black in white, but I'll get it posted on this thread. The article was from right before it was sold to you. The guy had no idea where it went. I guess he's not a HAMB member. :D

I like your progress on it. I have no doubt that the car will look the best it ever has once you finish it. The guy in the article mentioned that while the car looked good in the pictures, it was going to need a lot of work. I had no idea that the frame looked the way it did, but you have really made it look stock. I'm very impressed.

Keep up the good work, and I'll get you that article as soon as I can.

  20. I'm incredibly impressed with your fabrication skills. I looked at your pictures for the English wheel you made, and I can't help but wonder as to how you make your rivets look so perfect? They really are amazing! :D

  21. I'm having trouble posting the article that I have. If you want to PM me your email, I'll send it to you and maybe you can figure out how to post it.

Bringing this back up for some history lessons. Maybe someone new might see the big difference in what was done back in the day. They did things the right way. not over chopping and having everything laying on the ground looking like its broken.
