Does anyone happen to have any old late 80's HD Shock absorber application books? Im looking for shocks for my 87 Monaco Cl*** A 36 Foot motorhome that is on a 1986 ROADMASTER Ch***is. No one seems to have application books that go back that far. I need a part number for FRONT SHOCKS any brand shock (but preferably Monroe or Bilstein) If anyone can let me know a part number it would be greatly appreciated. I know this is not an RV site, but none of my 5 vintage cars need shocks right now ....... If anyone will have these books laying around....it'll be a HAMBer. Thanks Glen
just take one off, measure it extended and retracted, what kind of ends (eye/eye-eye/pin and sizes)and napa has a book to match any shock
Here is the Monroe e catalog http://www.monroe.com/catalog/e-Catalog Here is the Spec catalog http://www.monroe.com/***ets/downloads/english/08_MountingLengthSheet.pdf
Thats what I did for the rear shocks and I was able top have Monroe match me up a pair.....but the front ones are "coil over" and they said they would need a part number because they could match up the housing but the spring tension would be wrong unless I am able to locate a number for them..
47chevycoupe: Used the Monroe catalog spec sheet today. I needed a loop & loop (eye & eye) shock with a compressed length under 9" and a 5/8 bottom sleeve for the 4 bar setup under my 48 Lincoln Continental. It took a while but I got a model number and then could search which vehicles it was used on. Ended up being a 5752 that I can modify by pressing the sleeve out if needed. Great reference tool for most applications. Movin/on
