what is this emblem

Can anybody identify this emblem? I found it while I was cleaning the garage. It also has a light that goes behind it. Any help would be appreciated.

Any idea what year and model car this came from?

 

My memory is slipping but if I remember right it is for a 50's Mercury 2 door hardtop. It was an interior light that was on the inside sail panel behind the qrt gl***. Good find, should bring a nice price.
