this gal was owned originally by the climax mining company in Leadville Colorado. A miner took her home when the mine closed and then it was sold later to the guy I bought it from. We brought her down off the top ( I mean very top) of a mountain in the rockies near pikes peak. Youd think she spent her early life inside the mine, she was preety damn clean. I mean, if it just sat buried snow every winter for 60 years shes be a mess, but the original wood under the linoleum floor is still looking good? Leads me to think she transported miners inside the huge climax mine.
lol I found a set of 16' steel wheels, just gotta get some rubber for them and a set of moons ratpin: I was digging the look of the blue as well till I saw it in person. She was originally Dark then someone painted her blue and it was flaking something bad. If it was a original patina I would have messed with it all all but... so we painted her we had a 53 pickup we sold in 2009 when we had twins, and got a 53 coronet with a hemi to haul the family in, but I play stand up b*** and need to haul my rig so we found the burb. We always missed the first 53 chevy pick up we had,so now we have the Family edition.
WoW! Sweet burb you got man I dig the interior panels. Unfortunately she only came with the front 60/40. I found a 69 Blazer bench, and buckets facing out the rear.
cool ride.. not feeling the new paint but it will keep her protected and show how good of shape she really is in.. till you get bored and want t o paint her something different. chris.
That was a neat looking old truck. Looks like someone put in whatever seats they could find, in the back.
Reminds me of- That turqoise was nice, and had the kind of real patina that too many try to duplicate...
I would have left her blue if it was the original patina. She was a Dark green orig and some one painted her blue. Looked like latex house paint, some of it was ply-able.. the pics looked good but in person, looked like they used paint rollers in the 70's. Its true it takes a bad mo-fo to rock a ride like this. the 53 coronet we had had a pink leopard print top. I know alot of folks who never get around to getting their projects finished. Im enjoying mine on the street, Work on her as I go, but enjoy her today. Im the type of guy that would rather take $1500 and buy another car instead of a paint job. Some day we might get one of our buddys to shoot the top **** star purple with flakes, but Im the type of cat that would still do things my own way if money was not a issue. When I had a pink car guys would laugh till there girls wanted to go for a ride.
