Another Weesner Inspired Hot Rod (Lit Up)

Just went through this build...WOW what an artist with a shop thats way to clean for me to work in.

 

How is this one coming? Haven't heard anything in awhile...

OK boys and girls you have asked for an update and it's finially here. Sorry about the delay.
Jimmy's been busy makin a living lately so hasn't been on the truck much but what he has done is simply amazing. The first pic is of the vent windows. When you chop a vehicle the geometry changes on every thing as far as pivot points. Probably doesn't look like a big deal but it takes some doin to make everything work right. The vent window channel is partly original and part homemade. The top pivot has been handmade although it doesn't look like it.



Little bit better pic of the top pivot point. Looks like it's already plated but its not. It is fully polished and ready to plate. Jimmy does all of his own polishing to get a nice plate job.



This license plate guard is a piece of art. It's completly made from scratch and polished and ready to plate.

Here's a pic of the front fenders he's going to run. He had some other fenders on this summer that were radiused around the wheel opening. He had to do that to get the tires to clear the fenders. He has now narrowed the front axel and moved the front brakes in closer so the wheels will clear the fenders. He likes the looks of this much better.

 

Simply amazing.

 

That truck is deemed kid-trading worthy by me! If only he wanted kids...

I quit... the only thing that makes sense to me is that he has been left here from another planet. This man is on a whooooole other level. Boy! what a treat his kids have watching and learning from dad. Talk about a TV show, I wouldn't miss an episode... Perfection with metal... hats off to you sir!! Thrilled to see the end result... sure hope the mother ship doesn't come for him first.

Just read the whole thread! masterful work!!! I got to see the emrald tide both in bare metal and painted, he really does amazing work!

 

Biggest problem with this thread is the updates don't come fast enough. Just a great build.

Seriously though, killer ride. The best metal work that I have seen in a while, plus I love the rear window. I always feel that when some guy chops anything, they lose the drivability. But with this... It is really amazing.

What is the issue with the front fender? It looks like it is gashed?

 

I just started a thread whing about how to get my motor and body to fit. Then I read this thread. He needs room for the tires. Cut the fenders? No, he shortens the axle and redoes the suspension. I am inspired!!
