Oh man, just when I can (almost) see light at the end of the project tunnel, and am looking forward to FINALLY getting the chopped '59 T'Bird painted, a buddy offered me a pair of '63 Riv's. My wife will have a fit, I have NO room to park anything else.

I'm going to go look, just look :)rolleyes:;)) sometime soon. I have to admit, I'd kinda like one, and, it IS my birthday!

I think the "It's my birthday" excuse might get you some flexibility from the wife on the Riv! ;)

    Happy birthday!

    Happy Birthday Brian!

Oh- when are you going to pick up the Rivs?;)

  5. Well happy birthday to you.

I guess if someone offered me 2 '63 Rivs I'd have to walk up and smack him right in the mouth. One of those big ol' sloppy smackers. :D

Sometimes its better to ask for forgiveness than permission........

  7. 2 Rivs is good, but I'd rather have the 'bird than one Riv. Just my opinion.

  8. A bird in the hand beats two Rivs in the storage facility, if you ask me.
The problem with these kind of "opportunities" is that they divert focus and attention, at least they do in my world. Unless you have the luxury of dry storage, you're probably better off keeping your attention on your bird. I've come to realize that more than one project just slows the current one as you begin to divert funds and energies towards that second child. Be strong, friend. Birds are bitchen! Here's a bird one I had in my photo files.

The worse that can happen is you get your walking papers but there is plenty of room in the Riviera for very comfortable sleeping.

With a heater and CO sensor you should be warm AND safe from
going to bed & waking up dead.

Just tell her "some guys on the internet told me to do it!" HA! Pear pressure is a bitch!:D:p
Or at the risk of insulting your friend, you could always flip them, or just one.
    Happy Bithday, non the less.

63/65 Rivieras are some of the classiest cars EVER made. I'd kill for one. well maybe not kill but you get the point.

So I would like to see the chopped 59 T'Bird. I happen to have all three years of the squarebirds sitting in our yard waiting on me......

For what it's worth the Riv's are beautiful cars.

    Cheers

I'm right there with you. I've missed out on a few because they didn't come along at the right time but I still want one and I would drag home a good body less engine in a heart beat if I had to get one that way.

Here's the T'Bird. It needs a little more sanding, then blocked out, some high build, more blocking and color. It WAS a dark Candy Brandywine, but somebody backed into it in the parking lot at work and caved in the right rear quarter. That's fixed, and I decided to repaint it. The plan is two tone, bright silver over a smokey charcole. The top is removeable, although I need to now chop it the two inches to fit the w/s. There's a removeable convertible top too, but I don't know if I'll chop it.

So was it a hard top, you turned into a removable top? That sounds like a very nice paint scheme.

Here is our 58, the kids call it big bird :D. I guess cause it's yellow and a bird..... It needs body work, it's a pretty decent 60 footer...... I still need to work out the brakes better, I added 14" willwoods up front but haven't gotten the pedal where I like it.

Nice look'n 'Bird, Rusty. I put LTDII spindles and brakes on the front of mine, but it doesn't look like it'll be right, the steering arms are much shorter on the newer spindles. Supposedly, it's a workable "bolt-in", but I don't think so. I'm going to swap out the disk/drum MC I put on the cowl for a drum/drum MC, and put the stock spindles back on it, and rebuild the brakes.

I'm totally ok with being a bad influence on you - I am sure Larry Filipczak and the rest of the Singlefinger Speedshop crew is too, but it would appear that this really is the pot calling the kettle black...
    Just a thought...

Dude this one is easy! Tell her your friend gave the cars to you as a birthday gift. Done and done.

Then stash them away out of sight and forget about them until the T Bird is done. Focus!
