Man, I just found this thread.. I'm so stoked on your car. I've been a fan of your avatar for quite a while, Haha. I'm building my 54 with the same mentality you are doing yours with.. Make it look like it should have from the factory, not over done or cliché. Word. Well done bro.

Looks great! 3 questions for you.

    1. Did you weld the center crack in your hood? If so how in the hell did it not warp on you?

    2. I see that you have a 51 grill. Does it mount up just like the 52 grill did? Might go this route.

hey thanks! i actually started to weld up the center of the hood.. but then decided to run the center chrome strip instead.. we did my buddys hood.. we just would bounce back and forth from top to the bottom of hood making sure it never got hot enough to warp.. took forever, but worked..

and yes the 51 grill mounts up the same as the 52.. imo, the 51 is a much better looking grill!

  12. Progress is looking really nice. I can't wait to see it cruising down the road with the skirts on.

Looks smooth you guys did a killer job hard tops are hard to get to look right. It flows just right. Bet it took a while to make that first cut. But now look her. I am in your shoes before ya chopped it. I have a 50 fleetline want to chop it but I don't want to end up with the trunk sunk way down in. Ask Mr Bob if he has any ideas. Can't wait to see it done. If you were closer I would help ya block and prime.

at least you kept the rear glass wrap around, not a typical shoebox window or a smaller one i dont care for that look too much, to me the wrap around rear glass makes the hardtop look complete

i agree.. that was the ONLY way i would chop it.. not too many chopped hardtops running the 3 piece rear glass.. that rear window was the reason i looked for a hardtop!
