I aquired a 1955 Chevy 150 2 dr. wagon a few months ago. It came from Wyoming and is a solid rust free car. It is a 6 cyl., 3-speed that purrs like a kitten, it has 79000 miles on it and has not been messed with. My intensions were to make a g***er or a stock eliminator car out of it. The paint on the car was pretty much shot but I could not resist on jumping in there and cleaning it up the best I could. It was sure a lot of work but boy was it fun! It's like I could not stop. After I got it cleaned up, My wife Marcia who works at hallmarks cards got a phone call from headquarters that they were wanting a station wagon for a project they were working on. They chose the wagon and I met up with the crew and they shot a lot of pictures, it was a lot of fun also. I am at the point now to try and decide which way I should go, restore, leave it alone, or restore to original. I am leaning towards lettering up the car as a stock eliminator with all correct drivetrain ect. I have two other straight axle cars, a 1964 Nova and a 1950 chevy straight axle car called "WILD THING". I thought these two would satify my hot rod needs, but there is something about the 55,56,and 57's that I know I am going to have a hard time leaving it alone. My brother Matt has a turquoise and white 1955 chevy 2 dr. hardtop, 350, 4-spd with slicks on it, that he plans to race next summer.. Something that has been a lot of fun was he stated collecting a list of cars with names on them, cars back in the day, either race cars or street cars. It has been a lot of fun for everyone trying to remember there favorite cars. Its all just a lot of fun, I just wanted to share it with you.
The wagon looks like a real solid car, it would make a real nice JR Stocker....or you could put a LS motor in it and have a really nice driver. David
