Hello from Arkansas, the name here is J.C. and I live in Clarksville, Arkansas. Just joined the group a few minutes ago and I hope this site will be of much help to me as I begin my restoration project. I am retired Air Force (1955-75) with 15 years in Aircraft Maintenance. Yesterday, December 3rd, I purchased a 1963 Ford Fairlane 500 2 Door Hardtop that the restoration had already been started. It has a New rebuilt 260 CID (I know, bigger would be better but maybe later.) and a New rebuilt Auto transmission. Also the front end has been rebuilt and I got Many, Many New and used parts including New Rubber Seals/Gaskets and New Front Bumper and Brand New Tires on the ground, a full pickup load. There is No Rust in the body except the front floor boards and it already has that repaired. Only very small rock ping type dents in the body. The front bucket seats are plush and almost perfect, the back bench seat does have a tear in it but pretty nice. Also has a Center Console to match. I have a friend who owns a Paint and Body Shop who is going to get to do the paint work for me, he re-did my 74 VW and did a great job. AnyWho, would love to hear from any of you especially anyone in my local area. Take Care and maybe we will meet someday at a Car Show. J.C. -
Welcome from Ohio. Sound like a good start on the Fairlane. Good luck with it and be sure to post some pictures. The Rock
