  4. I should have some cool b/w's to post in a few days. That was a great show.I enjoyed everything except the ride home, that was a *****.
The response my car got was great, it kinda took me by suprise.Everyone kept telling me how cool my car was and how much they liked it, not bad for only being on the rode for 3 days, in primer, almost no front bumper, and dirty.I had just pulled in and a guy started taking pics of it. We walked away for a little bit then came back to get some drinks from the Jimmy Hoffa suit, A.K.A. the trunk and he was still there taking pics. I think he was from Wizz magazine, cool.

Had a blast. Got sunburned. Carb linkage loosened on the ride home. Are Flatheads sposed to idle at 5000 rpm? And, most impotantly, Steve's '55 Chevy was there!

Well, I gotta say I had a great time too. I got to meet a few of you, had good conversation with Meteor Man, DirtyT, and Fat Hack especially. Nice to know Hack has felt the pain of VW ownership. And I briefly met MercMan1951, but regret that I didn't get to talk to ya about the progress on that Merc-enstein of yours.

I'd like to see more pics of DirtyTs striping. I saw some of it being laid down, but didn't see the finished product.

The stripers inspired me, so after we left the show, I laid some ridiculously crooked and stupid looking lines on my friend Evan's '86 Celebrity rustwagon. He's the one with the flat black 50 Fleetline I was hanging around with. He needs to get his *** on the HAMB soon. He only lurks. I got some practice on the Celeb before moving up to his big Chev. That will have to wait until my skill increase 100 fold.

When I saw that bent shock Kustombuilder shows, all I could think was "that would make a great column shifter."

Somebody mentioned Broken Dream Cruise. Are there plans?

Ok, this show was awesome! It was great meeting some of the great HAMB folks I've only read about... Flathead Pete, Dirty T (Space Herpe), Peter Pan of Chicago... the list goes on and on... BUT, HOW DID I MISS UNKL IAN???

I took 589 pictures. 400 of which ****ed (its quan***y, not quality with me) So here are some of mine.

Here is a good shot of Hot Rod To Hell's 55 Chevy 'Plan B' ...5.13 gears, open headers, wicked smallblock, 1 hour drive, the mad, mad thrash to make a show... that is what hot rodding is all about!

Wicked little flatty in the burnout contest. I believe this is the cat from MotorCity Flatheads.

A nice little artistic shot that came out well. I don't know how I pulled it off. Two of my favorite cars there!

I love the way this car sits.

And a neat little model A.

We crashed at the HRLC Inn where I debuted Chris50's new hood.

There is the back of the pack on the way to Billetproof. I think it was only 20 minutes to the show from Denise's house! :D

At the show I really got to check out the Big Olds. Earl Scheib... you, sir, are a hell of a guy!

    Neat little shoebox convert...

and my favorite car of the show. I love this thing. And as intimate as the show was, I'm glat it was only a few steps from homebase.

Ok here's what I got. I do have a picture of the front pinstriping on DirtyT's car but there was too much sun glare on the herpe's *** to shoot the back.

    here ya go.

And now for the much anticipated Denise smoke show pics. The only thing that could have made this better is if she was wearing her snazzy pants!

Here we see her plotting against the cement block...

Awesome pics thanks for sharing. I love how the parking light bezels and hoods screens are grafted as one piece on this 59. Cool!

They were actually in motorcycle parking. That's why they didn't have registrations. A couple of the bikes that were showing parked there instead of in the show for some reason.

As for that Billet-wheeled Nash. Somone definitely ****ed up letting him in. I watched the gate for most of the morning and of course an hour later I see that guy. Oh well! One guy I turned away was so understanding that he let us park him outside as an example of who couldn't come in.

Anyone have other pictures of the Tiny Speed Shop Altered G***er? Please give any information on this vehicle as well. I was looking to build something close using this survivor g***er.

Talk about luck! I was in Detroit on business, and managed to check out the show later in the day. It was really great meeting some of HAMB's usual suspects and putting faces to the screen names. Bob I wish I had taken a pic of the expression on your face when you recognized me, wondering what the hell I was doing so far from home.

Anyway, here are my pics of the show. http://public.fotki.com/CraigMorrison/billetproof_2005/

A big thanks again to HRLC for letting us move in for a couple days. It was a great show, and everybody was real cool. We beat those storms home by about an hour on Sunday. Whew!

Something my girlfriend pointed out was a bunch of the cars were being loaded up on trailers. Oddly a few of the trailer queens were people Holly and I know and have heard ***** about trailer queens. Hows that for keepin' it real!

The "Nash" was sort of a good puzzler. I'm still trying to figure out what the roof came from. Soembody said the windshield was designated as being from a foreign car. The roof kind of looked like an ****** ZX2. Very weird.

The Porsche? Was that the example of what not to do? Kit car? Either way, it was pretty. And I don't blame you for disallowing him.
