If you have a Ford or Merc convert '42-'48 with the windshield out, we need some dimensions from the empty windshield frame. '41 convert might work too. Please PM me or post response here if you can ***ist.
    Thanks!

Thanks to Mr. Kilger, I have the dimensions I needed. A new question:

I need the stainless trim that surrounds the windshield of a '42 convertible (that's the model we are copying in my '40 convertible conversion). Anybody know if the stainless varies from '41 to '48, and whether the convertible windshield dimensions are different from the closed cars?

In other words, am I looking for a stainless set from ANY '41-'48 Ford or Merc, or are there specific parts for specific years and/or body styles? If a coupe/sedan windshield is wider or higher than a convertible, of course we can trim the parts to fit.

Bump: anybody know about the stainless windshield surround on these cars? Please let me know if you're familiar with these parts, so I can hunt for them more knowledgeably.

    Thanks in advance!

Bob Drake lists windshield rubber for 41-48 Convertibles and sedan's as separate kits...

Good catch, Rik; thanks. I had looked at the Drake and Dennis Carpenter listings previously, and I found them ambiguous -- couldn't tell if the convert and closed car parts were the same or different.

Still looking for somebody who knows about the stainless trim.

Im pretty certain the stainless is the same on a convert as a coupe the windshields are the same the openings are the same but the rubber is different because the holes for the rear view mirror are mounted in different locations on the center bars lower on convert higher on coupe & sed.
    Hope this helps.
