I can acquire a real clean coupe with several new parts, Continental kit, new brakes, gl***, seals and pans. Nice car to build. Would there be a market for it? I would put it for sale.
You're asking if there's a chance you could flip it? depends on the price you're getting it for whether there's any meat left on the bone. 49 Ford shoebox coupes are pretty desireable and tend to bring more than other cars of the same year, except for mercs!
Yes I would flip it. It's just that i have plenty of projects and i believe this car won't have a good ending if it doesn't go to someone else. I think i could offer it for 3k or a little less and be ok.
Been here since '07 and not seen all the '49-51 ford coupe builds, sales etc? Not trying to poke a stick in your eye but a search of "49 ford coupe" will turn up a lotta material that would lead a person to get an idea of how popular they are. I'd personally love to have another 49 coupe and if I wasn't already deeply immersed in my present project I'd be interested as would a lotta other guys here. They're indeed popular and for good reason...great little cars that don't take too much to make 'em cool. Here's my old coupe. [and 51 vicky]
