My buddy is changing the trans in his 39 Ford Coupe. It has a Dodge Desoto motor (58 i think) in it with the 3 speed ford trans. When they took out the old trans there was an interesting cast aluminum adapter made by Offenhauser to mate the motor and trans. This car has not been touched since it was built in the late 50's early 60's. Will post a pic when i get a chance (of the car) I told him not to throw anything out and try and sell the stuff that they took out because it would be good for a traditional build.
So what is the offy adapter worth?

    Thanks

    Kevin

No I don't want him to sell anything....I just thought it was cool to be ripping into a car that hasn't been touched in a while. I don't come here often but thought you guys would know what that kind of stuff is worth. No e-baying here.

If you get a chance, pics would go over real good on hamb. Is there any local history on the build from the olden days?

I did talk to Groucho in 2006 and did the grills back then.

My buddys Dad has the full history of the car. He has owned it since he was a kid and I think bought it from some one he knew. I will get a few more pics when I get a chance.

Huh? What happened to Groucho? I'll miss his posts....funny how you sort of feel like you get to know people on here, and never met them. How does a guy with over 10,000 posts go about getting himself banned ???

Well won't post anymore pics of the bug or talk about it here. I mean no disrespect to the owners of this site.
What I have always wanted was a Henry J. Even before I started the B*g build in 1991. I was biding on a nice one on ebay last year but lost out on it. I would have been a 5 year project with my Dad. The B*g was a 3 year project.
I'll keep looking for the right deal.
