The antique nationals was more fun than most humans should have for our bunch this year. For the second year in a row I beat Jonh Fordman to the finish line. It was a good race, and he tree'd the shit outta me, like I was tied to a pole.i also left the line in second and smoked the shit outta 1 rear tire for way to long.That was a second gear leave, the one in the picture.We had fun, and I cheated as I had an Indy winning engine man in my pit!Thats him in the photo next to me as we were changing the jets in my car,his name is Joe Boghosian.(Lucky Me!)I had a tone of help from everyone in order to get my car there, if it wasn't for that it wouldn't have made it.Especially John Fordman, who lent me half his garage and did alot of fab work for me.His car defintly sounded better than mine, but mine was a ton lighter. Super fun!I ran a best 15.88@86mph, not bad for a car just finished sat. before goin on the trailer for the track! Also in our bunch, Porkshop(the green 28 sedan in pic) made it to the final round, his first year!!!!!Too much fun!

Awesome pics Larry! It still amazes me how laid-back you were about getting the car ready with the looming deadline. And then to get it all together and still beat your arch-rival? Fuckin-a. Of course, not everyone would consider wrenching till 3:00 a.m. and then back at the day job by 7:00 a.m. "laid back". But hey, you got it done. We ended up makin 3 passes, each one faster n faster. I had tons of help gettin this thing ready, i was stressin.Definitly need to go surfin the first chance I get!No worries Von, I forgot.We need more events like this one, once a year is tough.Mokan might be a possibilty, but that is a long haul for me.
