Hi all! Finally the cool hot rod book from Finland has arrived to USA! Primer Magazine is quarterly pocket size magazine about hot rods, kustoms, hot rod art and kustom kulture. Latest issue is number 12. Only negative feedback that I have got from outside of Finland is language, it`s finnish and little bit hard to read... That`s why the first Primer book was made. 144 pages, all colour, hard covers and it is in english! Special articles covers eight hot rods and kustoms and eight bikes from Finland. Book features biggest shows in Helsinki, Tampere and Oulu and of course Kustom Kulture main event, Do Dads Offbeat Weekend. Many of you have seen amazing pictures from Uhlu excavations where fearless drivers climb to the top of the hill in slippery road. In Annual there is also other events like Pistons swap and Finnish Street Rod Nationals. Annual 2004 features little history article too, finnish hot rod art and best modelcar kustoms by Juha Airio. This first Annual will be real collectors item. There was only 1190 books made and over 750 are sold. So if you want to see what is our scene here in cool Finland act fast! I hope Platu won't mind if I allow myself to promote a bit this nice little annual collected by Platu. Let me tell you, there's no IFS's, no rusty rats, just the best what we have here in Finnish hot rod and kustom kulture scene and you bet that's cool! And of course we all do have a copy of our own so I can show you some inside pictures as well... Platu, this really is some good work, but you might already know that!
I got my copy a while ago but just had a chance to read through it. I really enjoyed this book. Great photography, nice personal stories about the builders and best of all, some really nice cars. I think this book is well worth it. Thanks for bringing it to the states. Chris

Yep, you mustn't confuse Primer Magazine (published 4 times a year in Finnish) and The Primer Yearbook (annual, in english) although both of them are excellent!

Just got the Primer Annuals last week....a few have already gone. It's a pretty good damn little book (it's a hard cover, not soft/flexi-cover). Print quality is great and at 143 pages the NUMBER of features just goes on and on and on and on...... Any of you guys that are mag collectors need to get on to this one, 'cos you'll be kickin' yourselves in a coupla years if you don't!
