im starting to gather parts for my 41 chevy coupe.one thing im looking for are drop spindles.does anyone know if any companies make them for this car?thanks for your help. jason
I read an article once on this, (might have been in Street Rodder?, by Pat Ganahl?), that used factory spindles to drop the front end. Factory spindles from 1940? to 1954 had different height of the axel pin, (where the wheel bearings ride), in relation to the kingpins. Some years had the spindle pin located lower in relation to the kingpin, (which would raise the front end). Other years had the spindle pin located higher on the spindle, which would lower the car. Don't remember for sure which year spindle would drop which year car, though.
if you want to go disc on the stock spindle use a2 and a13 bearings.....hubs are 70 77 camaro 68 69 camaro rotors are 68 72 chevellle or 70 74 monte.....superior has the bracket
Reviving this one from the dead. I want to keep the knee action suspension and drum brakes. The only thing I can find online is for a MII conversion. I looked fatman's and night prowlers, as suggested above, but only see dropped axles for 41 trucks. Can anyone can help guide me in the right direction?
I believe you can interchange spindles through '54, which would give you the option of '54 spindles that give a one inch drop, or both of the vendors mentioned sell an actual drop spindle that may be listed as for 49-54.

Bringing this back. A friend is trying to drop the frontend of his '41 Chevy sedan. We have found the links for Buffalo and the source of the bearings. But what is the bracket that's mentioned in this post?
