I had posted that I wanted to purchase fender skirts for my Pontiac, and Clarnce, a fellow HAMB member messaged that he had some at a fair price. So he sent some pictures, and long story short, I sent a money order. Clearly there were no guarantees, insurance, no PayPal etc. Just had to have a little faith. Low and behold Clarnce, also known to the world as Glen Wilber of Fort Wayne, IN sent them right out. I received them today and they are exactly as advertised! Glad to know we can still trust people in 2011! I know the HAMB has a bad seller list, but maybe there ought to be a Great Seller list as well. And neither one of us had to give Ebay a dime!!!
just had a similar experience with road_rat, put up an ad looking for falcon bumpers, contacted me, took some good pictures real fast. great price on the parts, was super fast on the shipping, continuing to be very helpful even now.... sadly I'm having quite a difference experience with someone else.... sent him the money two months ago, promise after promise to get the parts shipped, still nothing. haven't heard from him in a week or so after sending both PM's and Email. unfortunately he seemed super cool and I gifted the money to him on paypal or else I'd file a claim with them.....
Gsnickets, concerning the parts that haven't been shipped, maybe if someone on the HAMB knew where the person lives they could go and ask in person if they would ship them or return the funds? Sometimes face to face works better.
117harv, I agree, the skirts I purchased are vintage, and I am trying to keep as many stock parts as I can. Including running the original 316.
