hot rod related items only. tomorrow morning, im on my way to pick up a whole clean donor truck for our chevy (we really just need the bed and drivers fender). the lady said we could have it for s**** price so i saved up for a month or so, and just found out that apparently this will be my christmas present from my mom.
Kind of hoping my wife gives me a Drill Doctor. I'd like a tranmission jack but that's out of reach currently.
I dont have a girlfriend this year, but my imaginary one gave me gas and beer money for a car show this year.
I've been a very good boy this year and I've been squirreling away money since I bought my coupe, so I'm getting myself... a complete front-end (dropped axle, hairpins, spring, brakes, etc.) muncie 4-speed w/ new clutch kit and flywheel, bellhousing, Lime works column, new pedals & vega box...I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff too. YIKES !!! MERRY CHRISTMAS to ME
Well, don't know if I can say I was a good boy this year, but I recently got my new toy anyway, a 40 plymouth touring sedan...won't fit in the stocking but I can slap a bow on it and echo "happy christmas to me"! The wife drove 250 miles each way to get it, we had issues, wound up having to ship it for less than we spent in trying to origonaly get it, so the wife tells me I better love her and call her wife of the year...done and done...she also wants me to put an auto trans in it so she can drive it occasionally too...bonus gift!
Santa promised me a Maserati Gran Turismo, but last year he lied to me so I don't really trust him anymore. probably a quart of oil.....
I don't expect any hot rod stuff from my family but might end up with a cool new tool from my son if I am lucky and he finds something he thinks I need. The hotrods will get a few new pieces when my bonus shows up and if we get a decent income tax refund.
I'm getting a new set of Speedway headers for my T. Same "cl***ic" design, either chrome or AHC coated. Santa doesn't know which.
I'm hoping for this '60 Ford Squire Wagon I've got my eye on. But I know that I will always end up with the same thing I do every year.... a headache!
Im not sure yet,Every year I buy myself something ,Not sure this year though ,Ive been searching the net ,And stores ,And still nothing ......
Same thing I ask for every year. Gift certificates to the auto parts stores. Always the right size and easy to wrap. And maybe a new camera to be able to share hot rod clips online. Beats the heck out of neck ties!
I had been saving for quite a list of parts, but in all honesty, all I am really going to get for Christmas is debt... I always put the kids and wife ahead of my wants, so yeah, the more I think about it, debt is my gift to myself, albeit cleverly disguised as a happy family!
I believe I'm getting a set of new door/trunk/ and inigtion lock set for my 55 chevy. they pretty much were wore out and got ground off when car was totalled. can't be too safe these says.lol. But something else less $ would be ok, I;ve been very blessed this year and my health in doing good so the rest is just a bonus. Merry Christmas to all you Hambers..yruhot
Things pretty tight around here this year. The wife and i have both gone back to school and its eating us alive. The only money spent this year will be on the kids. May be next year.
Told my wife not to get me anything for Christmas this year cuz I just bought all the new stuff I wanted to update the 41: -Ch***is Engineering bolt in crossmember w/IFS w/disk brakes, rack & pinion, Mustang master cylinder, and radiator mount -Kwik wire 14 wiring kit -Ididit tilt steering column w/Lecarra Mark 10 wheel & horn ring -Dolphin gauges, electronic speedo and dash panels to fit the '41 -PowerGen 12v Alternator in generator housing -RetroSound old style am/fm radio & speakers w/input for usb/mp3 player -all new rubber products for firewall, gas tank, etc. -American Racing/Ansen Sprint replica front wheels 15 x 7 -cheap *** tools from Harbor freight: 120v welder, grinder, spray gun, car dollies, more wrenches & allen wrenches Santa will be buying me a few more things yet after the first of the year so I gotta be a good boy according to Mrs. Santa.
When asked by my wife what I wanted this year I told her; "Car models." She looked at me like I was from the zoo. I said; "That's right; car models,.........you know, the kind you put together with glue and paint." She gave the; If that's what you want, that's what you're gonna get. look and walked away.
The money to go to Bonneville next year. It's in the bank, in a special savings account, and will not be touched for anything except transportation, lodging, food, and misc. expenses at the Salt Flats..
