I have a 53 Chrysler and I'm replacing the king pins. The top has a needle bearing and the bottom is the regular bushing.

My favorite machine shop has a Sunnen king pin hone and tells me they can't size the lower bushing correctly because of the needle bearing top bearing.

Will a regular king pin reamer (I've found some on ebay) work? Will they align with the needle bearing and ream the bushing to size?

I dont have too much knowledge on this, I'v always had the machine shop do it for me bc I dont wanna fuck it up. I would trust their say.

My worthless two cents, but wanted to get this back to the top for you.

It would probably be best if they just made a temporary bushing for the top and then hone them out, this would keep the lower one centered, then just remove the upper temporary one and replace it with the needle bearing as needed. Thats what i would do if it came to my place!
