A product called "Seal All" will solve your problem. It works on gas leaks.

Go to the nearest "small" airport, general aviation type, and befriend a tech. Ask about using an aircraft approved sealer. Probably will walk away with a small sample.
"***e-Seal" is one great product. By the way, you NEVER use teflon tape on any part of a fuel system. If that bit of advice is okay for the FAA (Federeal Aviation Admin.), it's good enough for everyone. Actually, more than advice from the Feds.

Teflon is not a sealant, it is used on tapered pipe threads basically as a lubricant. Teflon tape should never be used on fuel systems because a piece could break loose and plug up jets, small orifices, etc. Same in air equipment too. Bad stuff. Leave teflon tape for your home plumbing, especially pvc, but not for natural gas piping.

The real way to fix that leak is to weld it, but that’s complicated, and dangerous if you don’t get all the fumes out, but I’ve done it.

There is a thread sealant for hydraulic fittings made by Loc***e that has worked for me. I also change to a hex head br*** plug (American only - foreign made have ****py threads). Make sure the threads in the tank are clean and dry and let the sealant set over night.
