nice work...i would lower the caddy tail lights, to follow the upper fenderline. i dont think it looks good with wings like that.
    just my opinion!!
    keep the pictures coming

Disagree totally. The 'fins' on this Olds are in keeping with the traditional Cad lines!
The taillights are the true trademark of the design. Many GM cars in the Barris years (the Sam Barris years, that is) got the Caddy rear fender treatment. It was what WAS!

As a child, I used to admire the Cads that slid by the house...the neighbor kid called the Caddy taillights 'Duck-Ends'.

This Olds is really coming along. Rough when started...as soon as I started the new post, I said, "Now here is one worth saving!"
Only real change I'd make is if the car is not documented (no magazine pics or 'real' history)
is a grille and headlight change...the front looks like a "face-lift" on an otherwise timely Custom.
I'd suggest an early Cad grille and '53 type Caddy headlights with 'eyelids'...

Love your Olds, especially the chop.

I have a '79 Seville front under my '48 Cad convert (see my avatar) and I found that it was necessary to narrow the A-arms in order to get any type of a decent turning radius. Without doing that, it would have been nearly impossible to drive on the street. I narrowed mine 1" and things are much better now. Of course, I put airbags on the Caddy so that in itself hampers the turning radius when the car is lowered. Also, the shocks are now mounted to the rear of the A-arm so that limits the turning radius as the tires tend to hit the shock.

Just things that hindered my build that I wanted you to be aware of during your build. Good luck...

  19. Nice work. Plenty of it! It's cool to see this kind of work on these cars happening all over the world. Too bad she was hacked so bad, but it looks like you have it under control.
