I bought the 35 Chevy that redbeard had for sale in the HAMB cl***ifieds. It seems that there were a few HAMBers out there that have some detailed knowledge of this year Chevy (and 30's Chevys in general), where should I start in building my library? I am doing web searches but that is proving to be tedious with little positive results. Anyone have suppliers of parts that they could share with me? Thanks...

BTW, I will be driving from San Diego up to Santa Rosa to pick up the car the weekend after Thanksgiving. The trailer will be empty on the way up and it will have some room on the way back as well. Let me know if you have something to move up/down the coast...

I've got a '37 Chevys - presently a coupe and before that a sedan and a couple of 1/2T pick-ups over the last 20+ years. I'll be glad to share anything I know about the 30's Chevys with you.

There's lot's of vendors around, depending on what you plan on doing with the '35. I've dealt with most of these vendors at one time or another:

There's also a lot of very knowlegable guys on the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America site ( http://vccachat.org/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=11;t=000078#000008 ), as far as originality goes, but don't tell them it's a rod or you'll catch a load of ****!!

Pick up a copy of Hemmings Motor News and look through the Chevrolet section. There's always a lot of vendors advertising there, too.

For your library, pick up a Parts manual and Repair manual first. Maybe an owner's manual, too. There are also reprints of Engineering manuals, etc. I'm a ****er for buying any literature pertaining to cars that I own, but I find them worth their weight in gold, when I need information.

The HAMB has a lot of guys that can help you and, if you decide to use a 6-cyl engine, you might want to check out this group.... http://www.inliners.org/.

    Thanks for the links TagMan.
FeO2, your Chevy is lookin' good; I won't know how much I ned until I pick the car up later this month. It has fenders but I'm not sure what condition they're in. I'll keep your offer in mind though, thanks.
