anyone know of a pinstriper located in RI, nearby massachusetts or connecticut? it's for a bicycle frame i'm having built, so it won't be extremely creative, but a lot of long, straight lines! thanks
Charlie Decker "One Arm Bandit" is who you want to contact! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/member.php?u=3673 His links are on his profile page.
thanks. i have seen him at a few shows but i googles 'one armed striper' and couldn't find him. no wonder, huh?
Larry Hook is in Cumberland and Davey Jones is in Narragansett although he may be in Florida this time of the year.I have their contact info if you like PM me.
Here is the link to Charlie Decker, he is first class and a great guy as well. http://www.banditpinstriping.com/Bandit_Pinstriping/Home.html
The guys mentioned so far are all great stripers. Alex Olivera is another guy you may want to check out, I've used him a few times in the past and was real happy... http://www.realpinstriping.com/
thank you. always good to have a back-up! i am feeding this information to the guys at the bicycle shop because their client base reaches far and wide, so even if i am only a one time customer, it might get them some work. thanks again
Another vote for Charlie Decker. I always BS with him when he comes out to the GNRS. That guy has amazing talent and he is unbelievably humble. I love his work.
They're all really great stripers, and super guys. Each one of them has their own style and expertise. I think it would depend on what your looking for style wise, and how much you want to spend.
All great artists, but my vote goes to the Bandit. I have had him work on my stuff as well as many friends, no disappointments what so ever.
just wondering, cuz i worked in the bicycle industry for 20 years before i went back to school last year.
no one will be able to take the knowledge away - good decision! i was sent to see Rick @ Union Bicylces in attleboro yesterday. scored 2 shimano derailleurs (front & back), a 5 speed freewheel, and a pair of downtube friction shifters - all NOS - for a waterford frame i'm having built. the pinstriping might be pretty boring for a creative soul; just outlines on the fenders and square overlapping panels on the tubes, stays, & forks. trying to keep it very traditional looking. thanks for reinforcement as far as the recommendations
Hello, my Mom, Liz had Davey do the striping on her 1966 GTO many moons ago & we're looking to see if he still does. I know this post is a couple of years old but can you please email me his contact info? BTW, checked out your work...nice!
