I guess I'm supposed to introduce myself before posting, I'll try to keep it short.
My Name is Jay and I live in Jim Thorpe, PA, USA, I've been here for 57 & 3/4 years and most of them have been fueled by the love of cars. I am married to Lynn we have two children, Jay and Mollie and two grandsons Donovan and Demetri both our Son's, most of my time these days is watching them.
I haven't posted and only read because currently I own no hot rods just a bunch of fixed-up cars, all drivers.
I worked as a machinist, welder, pipe fitter, fabricator and at one time was actually paid to build race cars (S & W Race Cars). I can say that I have repaired manure spreaders, installed chemical reactors in Ireland, and built a vacuum jacketed transfer line for liquid oxygen in Cali, Columbia.
Now I can't hold a five inch grinder for more than a few minutes due to arthritis in the hands so I work slow.
    These cars are current drivers
    48 Ford bus. cpe.
    48 Chrysler 2 dr. sedan
49 Chevy 4 dr. fleetline deluxe
    50 Chrysler New Yorker Newport
    51 Plymouth bus. cpe.
    52 Imperial 4 dr.
This winter I hope to put a mildly hopped up flathead in the 48 Ford and also recently got a 55 Plymouth engine to replace the one in our 50 Dodge.
We have a 48 Chrysler club cpe. that is going to get a .040 over 265 Spitfire with a 37 Desoto trans. I'm planning on my own intake and exhaust manifolds. The engine is going to be painted gold and will be known as the Golden-Spitfire.
We also have two Airflows a 35 C-2 and a 36 C-10. C-2 and C-10 refer to the Chrysler Imperial Airflow models for 35 and 36 both of our cars a 4 doors.
We have 19 cars between 1935 and 1952, some drivers, some projects, some parts cars.
I'll try to post some photos, I'm addicted to the vintage shots thread, everyone have a very nice Holiday season, I put the 49 Chevy in the garage yesterday, they are all away now and won't come out again until after a few heavy spring rains (to remove road salt).
    Happy Holidays,
    Jay

    Welcome from Abbottstown , Pa.
I know of some people in Jim Thorpe , Pa too . His Name is Lyle Augustine Jr. and owns a bar there . I think it's the Molly Maguires Pub & Steakhouse . He also has something to do with the Jim Thorpe pool too . I also know his Dad which was the principle or something along that line of a school department positions up there for many years at the school . I had some friends in Nesquehoning too . Small world . I use to hunt with my friend in the Broad Mountains up the street from you back in the early 70's . I always loved it up there and there was nothing much there either . We did make many trips to the Hose House in Nesquehoning drinking 10 cent beers back then . Had lots of fun there as well . That is what was so great about living up there . Not sure how Jim Thorpe is . Only went there one time to see everything about the Great Jim Thorpe which many people have no idea who he was .
Anyway hope to see you at the Jalopy Showdown or the NSRA Nats in York Pa. sometime .
