Sleigh, sled - same same. Never heard a hot rod called a sled. Santa digs Customs, with a C of course. :)

I say hotrod, he does need to cover alot of ground in a short period of time. Acceleration and top speed are a requirement in his job. Example below, found on the web....

Did Santa drive in on that new '34 Sedan in the background? Because I know your wife wouldn't let even Kris Kringle toucher her sweet Victoria.

"Everyone knows Santa drives a sled man....."

when I read that I did it with a Cheech Marin accent. I just heard the Cheech and Chong skit where they talk about Santa and Chong kept saying "I used to play with that dude" on the radio the other day.

  21. He might be a motorcycle enthusiast since his sleigh seems to be made from a sidecar:

Santa likes to cruise his custom in his off time, but come Xmas eve, he's a serious hot rod guy, man. It's all about speed. How else are you going to cover all that territory in one night?

Nope, not a custom guy, just saw him cruising through town in C-Words "A" roadster.

Sounds like a hot rod to me; albeit '60s "custom rod" style.
