Finished.... yea right. Don't want to start out with a lie but I have been driving around after nearly 5 years of off and on building. Not sure if anyone remembers last January when I "finished" it with a C4 automatic and broke 3 flex plates and pulled the trans 4 times that month. I had never wanted an automatic and that cinched the deal. Sold all my auto parts and turned them into a 5 speed. This fall I got back at it and now I LOVE it! Well worth tearing my floor out and rebuilding all my pedals and master set up.

I channeled my car 8 inches( shoulda done 6) so pedals were a challenge since I am running the original gas tank so space was a premium. I made my own pedal set up and mounted the masters 19 inches behind the pedals where there was more room. I flipped the clutch fork shaft around backwards so the hydraulic slave would be on the p***enger side which opened up a bunch of needed space.

I do still want to get rid of the electric fan but need to build a jack shaft/pulley to clear the front cross member since the motor is so low in the frame. Might wait to install the GPS and A/C til later....

Now I can get on my 36 Chevy!

It was well worth the wait to have 3 pedals. I love how one thing leads to another. I completely rebuilt the brake system, floor and sub structure, ditched the buckets and installed a bench, a water pump got the clap and started dripping which lead to finding a bad pet**** which lead to coring out the radiator and a new radiator mounting system. Runs so good I hate to tear it apart to install the dual carb intake.

    Way worth it.

I ended up making a different clutch release arm than the one shown. This one had too much slop so I cut up a model a brake pedal which mounts tight on the round shaft using bushings made for the inside of the bellhousing that hold the clutch fork shaft. Works perfect now. Also got the gas pedal bent and mounted correctly since these pics.

    It's farther along than mine.

They're more fun to drive than stare at. Even unfinished. Cool car.

Do I see a foldable top?

I dig the '59 Corvette in the background.

The top goes up.... but its hinged so it swings up exposing the area behind the bench seat(where you hide the beer, or things...) I just took an old semi tarp and cut it up and covered the frame work from a modern porch swing shade cover. Cut it up and used the curves to look like it has a top. The sport coupe has a funky drop off behind the doors where the original top was. This fills in that area and allows me to have a hidden area in my car. damn, so much for secret.

By the way, its a 61 Corvette, kind of.

Love it. I have a spare Sports Coupe in storage that I was thinking of doing very similar to your style or as a gow job.

    Decisions, decisions. :)
