Here's a quickie look at Spike's old coupe. I can post more later if anyone wants to see them. Some before, during, and now shots
I was PM'd asking for details.. The whole frontend, dropped tube and 4-bar, where replaced. most of the gl*** body and paint big block gone, replaced with a 66 283 punched to 301, de-stroked to 292 with 55 265 heads decked and punched with big valves. It's a screamer! rear suspension re-tooled new gastank wheels and tires (duh ) interior dash replaced with 27 chrysler new column Ummm...just about everything...
I saw it at Norwalk Blue suede cruise at Norwalk Dragstrip, it looked real good, great color combo. You guys should have raced me ! Great talking with all you guys too.....................Littleman
Man that thing looks great. I seen the old owner of that car not to long ago and he ask about it. Then he told me that Spike runied that car. Well I'm glad to see you saved it.
Whoa dude. this is nuts. i was just wondering what ever happened to this car today. I was trying to think of whose it was so i could see what was going on with it. It looks real good. Nick
RULERS!!! YES!!! That ol thing looks the ***S! But what would you expect from the makers of "Lucifer" and "The Buick"? I know when some people sell a car, they hope that nothing gets changed, but that car needed all the change it got. I never had the scratch or talent to do whats been done to her, so she went to a great home. Its what I had always hoped for that car. Great job fellas! I wish you many, many, happy miles. I'm also glad to see that little block go in there. I can never really tell motors apart anyway, and it looks great. I wonder if it would be wrong to shoot a feature on my old car? The stance realy looks great as well. The color is perfect. Did J-bird do the striping or is that a dumb question? Anyway, its great to see the coupe has finally reached perfection. Great job again to all involved, and thanks to Grumpy for getting them the coupe, me the Buick, and everyone on the HAMB a look at what the coupe turned into. Have any more pics you could send me? Higher res? Spike
grumpy knowing what that car looked like before.. I must say what major improvement.. wow.. thanks for sharing sawzall
It's cool to see someone take something cool, change some things, and have the end product still be cool. Seems it doesn't usually work out that way.
I'll tell them you liked it. Bruce, the owner of Lucifer, lurks on here but doesn't post, so he'll see this. He did the rebuild from oct. to this past weekend. It was it's maiden voyage. Here's what else is going together. It belongs to Jeff, who did 1Lowlesabre's 61 Buick. It should be ready within a month. 28 Sedan, channeled not chopped, early 60's style with lots of flake, white M/T, and suspension. Chrome garnish moldings, custom crazy-*** dash etc....
Well Grump you guys did it again! Another car that I like (actually both of 'em in this post). I'm thinking Jeff and I have similar taste in the way a car should look....I'm going to name this one "Green with Envy" cuz he always has stuff that makes me envious! My '28 PU was going to be a HEAVY purple flake with a white TJ tuck and roll but now it's going to look like I copied one of those Road Hounds cars...well at least I know that the really cool thing is these cars are being built right here in Ohio! My PU has a heavy influence from the guy that originally built Littleman's truck (the same guy that owned Lucifer when It was just a model A shell and needed a home). I was kinda bummed when Littleman's truck hit the road first but he has the cash/tools and time that I do not have, so I decided to change things a bit so it didn't look like a Littleman copy (Dave and I live one city apart from each other and see each other frequently). Now it looks like I'll have to divert from my current plans now that I've seen Jeff's deal. Damn it ****s to be broke. Do you guys need a semi-long distance prospect.????I can come down on the weekends and sweep the garage floor and pick up any loose parts I find on the floor.
