I bought a skid of stuff at an auction and besides a few GM flywheels there was one that looked strange.
Cast with many thin areas for lightening, no starter ring gear and a big M/T cast on one surface. An early lightweight flywheel?
I also found a clutch pressure plate, 3 finger,11 inch, painted blue with a big M/T stamped on it.

Anyone have any info on these parts?

    Thanks.

    Slammed,
here are some poictures and info on the Mickey Thompson parts:

The flywheel weights about 22 pounds, the diameter is 13 3/8", the bolt holes ( 1/2 inch) are on a 3.925" circle roughly. There are 8 holes to attach it to the crank, maybe only 4 are used? The center hole is 2.150" with a knockout which would make the hole 2.780". The thickness measures roughly 0.920".
The clutch has an 11" diameter and attaches to the flywheel with 9 bolts. As you can see it is a 3 finger clutch. The 3 adjusting screws have square holes in the end (see pixture), why I am not sure. It is marked M/T as seen in the pictures and was painted blue.

    Any information would be great.

Coulde be for a race car. Compe***ion cars didn't have starters in the old days and so didn't need a ring gear. Chryslers have some 8 bolt crank flanges. Few extra bolts on the clutch cover makes me think the whole thing was a Top Fuel clutch from before the Crower-Glide.

I'll go with a Hemi crank, the extra holes may be for a Borg and Beck style clutch and or Diaghram,or as stated above a possible stack type clutch.

426 Hemis had the 8 flywheel bolts. The early ones had six bolts.

Pontiacs of that era had 6 bolt flywheels.

If nothing else those two pieces would be cool wall hangers.

Yes , my car is the almond beige 62 with the Hilborn injection on it.

Actually the funny 61 Corvette runs around with me, it is what we refer to as our parts car...
Actually it is a very neat car, the guy has owned it for 47 years, pretty cool.

Do I know you or your car?

I checked an aluminum 331-392 flywheel on my wall, it has 8 holes at the crank flange. It came out of 60's era dragster, the clutch pattern is 6 bolt. The center hole is 1.625 for the pilot bearing to press in to. It was a 2 or 3 disc slider unit. Maybe Mickey added the 3 extra pressure plate mounting points to prevent flex in the cover? BTW the O/D is 14".

The Malco Corvette owned by Chris Lang I believe was fron PA.

The Malco 31 Willys was built and run by George Montgomery from Dayton, Oh.

Google Malco Corvette and there is lots of info.

Check out this site for Corvette g***ers and lots of other great racing pictures.
