Is there a way to lenthen the amount of time before the system logs you off? I have wasted more time drafting thread replies and email responses that get erased because of this timeout feature which I have always jsut retyped and moved on. No More, I need to change this, I can't keep wasting my time, and I had planned to copy all text before sending, but sometimes I forget- and seriously do I really have to do that?

Can anyone help me out with this? Moderators?

    Thanks!

    J-

I've never been logged off of the HAMB. Ever. When I log in, I click the "Remember me?" ****on. I've left the HAMB open for days on my work computer, so this should work for you.

Ps. This should probably get moved to the Questions and Answers section...

i've never been logged off either. it's probably your IP (internet provider) that is kicking you off.

Actually this has been happening to me a lot lately too, I've been kicked off for being idle too long, and it never remembers my log in when I come back. Hadn't had that problem before, but it is getting old.

Check your browser settings, or maybe your anti-virus software / firewall settings.

I have a new laptop. first internet site I went to when I got it was the HAMB. That was the last time I logged on, 3 months ago. Could be your security settings.

Gotta have cookies enabled and check "remember me" when you log in. Have never been kicked off after doing that. Sometimes I clear the cookies, then have to check the remember me box again.

Yeah, I've got all that set up. I never used to have this problem either, it's something recent, and it doesn't happen on any other sites I visit.

Only time I ever have to log back on is when Ryan is doing some updates or repairs to the site. Speed up your replie times and see if that helps. I have had to go back a few times and start again when I piddle around and the pop-up shows saying no more threads, but thats my slowpoke fault.

This has been a ongoing issue for me, this site logs me out every 5 minutes it seems.
And it is the only site here at home that does it to me. Every other forum I visit remembers me flawlessly so it is NOT my computer.

I have checked everything I possibly can and all is as it should be.

I check remember me every time it happens and it never does.

A good example is tonight, I logged in around a half hour ago, roughly. Since then I have been booted out and had to log back in at least 6 times, sometimes even when moving from a thread back to the Hamb forum thread listings.

    This all ****s :(

Another one ! while I was trying to post this it kicked me out. fotunately I copied and saved what I had typed to log back in and post it !!!!

Most people having issues are using Internet Explorer. I don't know why.

I don't get anywhere with Internet Explorer unless I set all of the securities at the lowest levels. I keep thinking I'll spend some time and try to narrow down a single setting that makes a difference but I do that **** for a living so I have a hard time digging into it at home.

For those who do have trouble, try FireFox or Chrome and see if it helps...

99.9% of the time, if you clear you cookies and cache and then login and hit "remember me", you won't have issues.

i have this problem too. it doesn't matter if i am at work or home, if i leave it on a page for a couple of minutes without moving it logs me off. then when i log back on i can't tell how far back to go. i'm sure it's something i could fix, but i am dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to computers... and lots of other stuff.
