Gary Kesslers roadster is the yellow/orange 32 behind the red one, and yes it looks like a 3" chop to me.

Gary's original car is owned by Don Ward of St Louis and he's had it for over 40 years. It was one of the "75". Just read about it in the Deuce book put out by Rodders Journal and Gary has just finished building a clone of his original car. Article doesn't say how much chop of the windshield.

I'd bet that's a 3" chop. Just cut 3" out of my ws frame and it's a dead ringer for that picture.

Gary lives In st. Louis and is a good friend of mine. I'm pretty sure it's a 3" chop but I'll check and make sure.

A 3" chop will give you 6" of vertical gl*** in the middle of the frame, 6 and 1/8" is the length of a dollar bill and the police would hold up a bill on the windshield gl*** to determine legality of the chop. 6" was always considered the minimum legal height for a windshield here in California. A 3" chopped windshield laid back just looks right on a '32 Roadster.

    Cool picture Al! ;-)

That's one I snapped a few years back.

Here's a pic of it in my driveway, along with **** Carroll's '34 roadster, Don Albers' 40 pickup, Jerry Eckholdt's '39 (when it had the blown hemi), and Jim Thompson's '34 Vicky.

I did a 3" for my roadster a couple of years ago. I bought the stock heigth one from Speedway and chopped it myself. Just takes some time and planning. I wrapped the frame in tape and cut it on a bandsaw. Final finishing with a file. I painted the edges silver and looks fine. The stock heigth one is cheaper and all the holes in the sides get chopped off so looks fine.
