Slot Mag Porn

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by daddy_o's_diner, Dec 12, 2011.

  1. I have been looking for a decent set of wheels of wheel to use on my Anglia. The Centerlines it was wearing when I baught it were just a little too new for me. I'm looking to take the car back to a late '60's g***er. So I found a pair of polished Indy slots on that auction site. A nice solutiuon to half of my problem.

Then I was lucky enough to score a set of Fenton Gyro 3.5 wides for the front. They we're pretty crusty so a polish job was in order. Well, about 6 hours worth of sanding a polishing got me to this.

A little final polishing and they will be good to go!

Polishing aluminum is not a whole lot of fun, but man what a return on investment! Loving the look of the slot mags on the car.

    Much improved!!!

I was wondering why you hadn't posted about buying another new car in the last week:eek::rolleyes::D. Good to see your using your time constructively. I think your on the cutting edge of the next new "must have" as I've heard rumors that slots were on the way back. 'Bout time, I always thought they were *****in wheels. So, as long as your all wound up and doing such great work I'll drop off a couple sets of mine and you can make them all pretty.

    Really nice combination! Beautiful job!!

You make me want to go finish sanding and polishing my truck wheels.
    But I ain't gonna.

  15. It has been a crazy year with the cars, Frank.

That said, I think I'm good for awhile. Loving the Anglia and the convertible should be fun this summer (after summer all bets are off). And, as I have said before, the '34 isn't going anywhere!!!! :D

Yup, I'm always the trend-setter - Slots are the next big thing. You heard it here first!!!

I'd offer to come and pick up a couple of your wheels, but I'm afraid if I ever went to your place, I would never want to leave!!!!

I have always had a soft spot for slots. Anglias are fairly new to my brain, but no better choice in wheels after seeing this!

Polish is ok but I still love them in the machine finish just like they came of the wheel lathe when I worked at Ansen

  19. Very cool Wrongway. I gotta say I love the Factory finish also. Problem is, once the wheels are cruded up from 40+ years of use, it's way easier to polish them than to get that perfect lathe turned look.

Nice wheels, although I'm biased because I also run US Indys with skinny Gyros

Your car rocks. Can't wait to see how she runs with the new engine.

Wheels look good on your Anglia, perfect fit! I feel your pain on the polish job, I just resurrected a set of early 70's US Indy slots for O/T '71 Road Runner.

  25. wheels can be a deal breaker or maker your car would be sweet with about any kind on it but that is the look i love really sweet
