    Hello!

Finally found an S10 tailshaft for my V8 T5...need the tailshaft to swap the ****** into my '53 Chevy 3100. Unfortunately, the seller only has the tailshaft, and not the shorter shifter rail for that tailshaft.

Question - can I just use the Camaro shifter rail, cut it to length and drill it for the pin that holds the shifter socket?

    Any watch-outs?

Yes you can cut the shaft and drill anew hole. I did one and just did the basic math on the difference that the shifter was moved. Mark the new hole before cutting the shaft off.
