A lot of these "insurances" are an add-on to your current policy. Read the small print. You must have a primary-use vehicle to get coverage. Reading between the lines, I assume they plan to use the other coverage as primary if something happens.

  3. Hagerty is great.

In the end , don`t fret over $100 here or there. The customer service is above and beyond.

INSURING CLASSIC CARS IS WHAT THEY DO.

I use State Farm for my "regular" cars. They suck at insuring classic cars, boats and motorcycles......

  4. Well so far I'm looking at grundy and hagerty. I'm waiting on a quote from grundy still. With grundy they are asking to insure 3 vehicles with them in order to go with them so i fukky insured the 49, then just put comp on my el camino and 66 f100.

    I have my 57 Fairlane,[25000] 60 F100 [17000] and 70 Lemans[14000] thru Hagerty all for $410. a year

  6. Don't know when you last checked with USAA but they gave me a substantial loan for an RV all over the phone and internet and I'm retired AF NCO. They said they had recently changed their rules and anyone who has served honorably is now eligible to be a member. I don't have any insurance with them but keep getting offers in e-mail.

I currently use Grundy for the toys but recent changes there seem to be screwing things up. Applied for insurance for my latest 32 in mid September. Got an insurance card from my broker but never a bill from Grundy. Might seem like a good deal but I'm concerned I may not be covered. Broker is working it.

  7. Well I called Grundy today on Classic Car Insurance since that seems to be all I can get (no daily driver coverage on something with a Guaranteed value) but I guess as long as I dont drive to work (my shop) I'm fine. Hagerty gave me a quote for $478 per year and Grundy gave me a quote of $148 per year... Why the huge difference? I double checked with both and got the same quotes from both companies. I just want to make sure I am fully covered here that's all. If I have to pay the higher quote for best customer service and fully covered with no hassles then I will do so...

  8. Bump! Any ideas here guys on this quote I got from both Grundy and Hagerty? Why is Hagerty so much more? Seems that most people I've talked to prefer Grundy over Hagerty but I am just curious as to why Grundy is so much cheaper (not that it's a bad thing).

  9. Grundy was higher for me, by aboutr 20%, over Hagerty.
