    We have begun phase two of the restoration of "The City of Salt Lake" this is the orignal engine from the car, we have it on a rotating rebuild stand, and will begin cleaning and detailing it out along with "Gittin er running" and back in the car ![IMG]

    While the stand may look a bit crude, it's built like a brick,,,well you know .
    After all the engine weighs around 1500 lbs , all the while Butch was stressing out, "OMG if we drop this thing it will go through the floor clear to China ![IMG]

    Keep in mind , This car will not be driven on the salt again, ever ! Once someone asked Butch if he had planned on putting it back on the track, his reply, "Oh HELL NO , that thing is dangerous ! " Pretty much said it all .

    Thank you for your continued intrest in this project! Its a great story !

    @Rockabillybob -

    Thanks for the engine pics ... it's great to hear that Butch is putting the Allison in the 'liner!

    How is it that you are ***ociated with the engine rebuild? (i.e., are you still in Tampa, FL? ... or have you moved to Utah?)

    NOTE: Ray (@ChevyAsylum) Therat has more pics of the 12 cylinder Allison on his website ... HERE.
