I didn't have much to do with it's construction. Except I'd like to take credit for poising his brain and giving him the idea in the first place. But I can give a few details until mr. Polara pat steps in himself.

Right now it's powered by a mild 440 "back up motor" but plans are for a 500+" stroker.

Pat says he wants to drive it on the street(roll eyes) but I think he's delusional. The real plan is to flog it mercilessly at dragstrips all across the P.N.W. And maybe some select nostalgia events farther south.

Anyway lots more info and pics on his blog.

Now that got my attention! Nicely done.

  5. awesome - the only things I might have done differently would be the hemi scoop to match the grille and as mentioned the wheel opening moved up. Oh and I might have moved the stock k-frame up and kept the stock suspension like on the originals built by amblewagon. What you have built is period correct for a homebuilt racer however and I like it too.

Course if you have the hemi scoop and grille, a hemi with a cross ram or hilborn injection would look just right in there . . .

    just sayin.

A hemi would be boss. And time will tell, It's not out of the scope of possibility. But these guys built this thing on a shoe string budget. Not just because they wanted to.

And it's funny you say that about the front fenders.(your not the firts.) Because the openings have been moved forward 6". Just that the axle is forward 9". Haha

    That's

The proportions are perfect. I love it. Now I need to find a 63-65 B-Body wagon.

Hey, I didn't even know this thread existed. Thanks for the props guys but I didn't build it alone. The bulk of the build was done by me and a good friend and mechanic Chris Carlson but Lurk King did his share of s****ing undercoating and other thankless jobs. It's been fun seeing it come together and now look forward to a many serious thrash sessions at the track. This car will learn to hate me. I thing LK has answered most of your questions and as far as the fenders go they will get slashed more, as will the bumper to accommodate some taller rubber up front. The stance isn't quite right yet but we're on the right path. I'm also pretty much begging LK to build me some serious fenderwell headers to fill the void behind the front runners. The current fenderwells are awesome but almost fit too good if that makes any sense. Also a bigger, badder mill will sit between the fenders once we hammer out a bunch of T&Ts and can afford to build something wicked.

    Stay tuned.
