OK, we've got a new year coming up. What projects do you intend to FINISH this upcoming year. Not work on, but FINISH!
Post a picture of where the project is now.
This time next year we'll drag up this thread and see who actually did get the job done.
All rodders seem to be overly optomistic (we wouldnt be rodders if we weren't)
    Who's in?

I'm hoping to finish the 1957 Chrysler restoration and complete the bellytank and take it to the salt. Lets see your " FINISHED IN THE NEW YEAR PROJECTS"

I'd like to finish off a few details on my '35 (THE WIZARD) and drive the piss out of it. I have get front shocks on it, Change the oil, find the voltage draw and figure out why I can't get a pedal in terms of brakes.

I don't plan on finishing anything else for a while.....maybe that Deck off the back of the house I started 2 years ago. :D

    I'm in! Here's my list:

Finish the '48 Diamond T pickup.

Paint the T'Bird and finish the brakes (I started a front disk conversion but don't like what I've done)

    Build the Tini-Home trailer.

Get the '47 Spartan Manor home.

There, let's see where I am NEXT December!

If my 49 Cadi is anywhere close to a driver this time next year I'll be happy. I have vowed to not pick up another project until it's done. Drivable anyways. But I think I said that last year.

Damn Andy that rear Crossmember came out great!! Very close to the Pierson Coupe frame. I can't believe that's progressing so fast. You make me feel like a slack ***.

The Girlfriends Falcon wagon WILL be on the road for Good Guy's spring deal, and my long suffering Plymouth avatar WILL have it's accident damage repaired and new primer sprayed...Maybe a turbo too?

I hope to get both the Apache and the Vespa done this next year. At least the road to hell is paved.

  15. Here is the concept. I am ordering my rear section sheet metal from Dennis Carpenter in Jan. I am going to use the 50 series body with buddy seat.

    this will get built:

    per JJ's request:

-stock front end with reverse eye spring and '46 Ford drums.
-'46 Ford rearend with open drive conversion, tardel dropped shackles.
    -'57 312 y-block, hurst mount, walker rad.
-'85 mustang t-5 trans, mummert adapter, etc.
-tardel manufactured ansen style pedals with chevy dual single master.
-original dash with original gauges, and a SW tach in the middle.
-original seat, covered in brown leather salvaged from an old couch. (i found this couch on the side of the road and i am stoked. the leather is baseball glove brown, and soft, and has just enough wear. love it)
-i have 8.20x15 rear and 6.40x15 front wheels and tires. i'd love some 16s, or maybe 17 front and 18 rear wires. but i spent a lot of money on the tires, so the budget isnt there right now...
    -f100 column and box.
-the nicest '34 body i have ever seen...

i see all these super rad 34s coming together and wish that i had the means to make mine happen the way they are. the 3w that hip2bsquare posts about, d-rods (chopped by rudy), curbspeeds car, etc.

but i am just an inexperienced guy trying to put together a hot rod that his dad never got to finish. so i am going to resist getting in over my head, and keep this simple. in a way, i think it'll be more like the ones i see in old pictures. they are not perfect in every respect. you wish the rear would be a little lower, or the front, or whatever.

i am just gonna build it and drive it and let it evolve.

i think that's about it. updates on my build thread very soon.

The FlatCad is almost done, with just some body mods, and clutch/brake pedal mods needed.

The Blown Caddy flathead is being ***embled now, and we will be at Elmirage in May.

Here is how I got it in August of 2010, and at Bonneville, with a SBC, since the Caddy flathead was not ready.

Killer plan Mark, I'm jealous of your tin though! I'm running 15's too, BF goodrich 8.20's and 5.60's on '48 merc wheels. If you look to history for clues, a large percentage of 50's built cars ran them, they were the "latest thing".

  24. Not going to make predictions, been having fun with the soon to be 5 year old LilT. Will keep plugging away on the Tudor and Lakester, finish the house and spend time with family.

that's what paul howard once told me. "if you're building a car like your dad would have in '62, you wouldn't be caught dead with 16s."

    so i listened to him.
