32 5 window...rear roll down window info needed

The 32 5 window we are working on gets a roll down window. It is missing the regulator and the package tray.

First I have a bunch of model a window regulators and was wondering if they are the same as the 32 rear window. It makes sence Ford would use left overs. If nobody knows a length of the arm would be nice.

Second if I could get a measurement of the regulator location it would help big time! I don't have the metal so a measurement from the wood should work.

I posted pics of the car last night and we are on a tight time schedule.

i believe they are the same as a model a. mine is missing too and i am told it has four screws. to find out for sure call **** Spardaro.

 

I believe the 3 window uses a 4 bolt and the 5 window uses a 3 bolt that looks just like an A.

The 3 winow uses a wood cover and the 5 window has a metal cover that is part of the package tray. I'm gonna make a narrow package tray so we can get the seat back farther.

I would think if I centered the end of the regulator arm in the window it should work right.

There was a post on this a little while ago, with pics. I have the bit that goes behind the package tray that holds the wonder if you need one. Wont fit in my coupe.

 

I got this pic from search results. The regutalor looks a lot like an A. It doesn't show the panel it bolts to. That's part of the package tray.

I replaced the package tray in my 32 5W. I have the one I removed that had the tray cut out so the seat could be moved back. Would it help you out? Two pic's show the piece and the third shows my new one.

I think I found the answer to my second question. The lower bolt goes into the lower pan. We have that and that should position the regulator for me.

JUst a little info for everybody. The Model A window crank does work for a 5 window. The only thing we found is we'll have to drill and tap the shaft for the 32 "T" handle.

Model A regulator, eh? I never thought of that...I'm gonna try to use a 35 ford coupe back window regulator for my chopped 34 back window..if it doesn't work out, I'll be looking for a model A regulator. Thanks.

I think he is speaking of the back window regulator, not a door regulator.

 

It might have been a door regulator that I used....would have been a p***enger side

anyone got pics or know how these seals are done? Obviously the window channel vertical on each side which I presume is glued to the window wood surround vertical pieces. But does the u channel rubber only go on top and bottom sides? Is there a visible gap between the window and the opening when viewed from the outside? any pics appreciated. Decided today an opening rear window is a must in a black car with a cowl vent , opening front window without a/c. as always thanks to all hambers for their much appreciated input.

 

Sure would like to see some photos like these of the 3 window set up for the rear window....
