i need 18" wheels for my project salty es***. now what i want is 18"x3" ( or 18" x 4") for the front and 18" x 6" (or 18" x7"). i wish i had an endless budget for the wheels and realy want high clearence wheels in any bolt pattern but lets get real. if you have them to sell you are going to hold out for the most money you can get for them. my question is what is the alturnative if you were to run moon discs and dont care what the rim looks like? im talking about temp spair tire rims, stock new car steel rims etc. what 18" rims have you used? i dont care what bolt pattern it is . can even be 6 lug if need be.speak up hear!
as do newer dodge rams. theyre wider though, 18x7 inches if im not mistaken http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/s...CCI/Wheel/2007/C2CSTL03664U45.html?tlc=Wheels
Here are some pics of a spare wheel i picked up at the pic-a-part, i have four of them and they are almost dead on for vintage Ford 18" hoops. I do not know what they are for, they may be the Chrysler ones as mentioned above.
117harv i need a set of those. 5 on 4.5 will work. the dodge ram will work for the back i think. looks like i am off to the junk yard next week. flipper what year chry 300????
Pics of the Dodge high clearance wheels, in their crusty form and on bonsey's coupe, painted nicely with caps. Some don't like the big little wheels on street cars, i guess it's all a matter of preferance...bonesy's does it for me
i have original firestone 8.00 x 18 i got at hershey this year so i need to stay with 18" rims. i do like the 20's though. i like the repop milk truck wheels but i dont know about 400.00 each. i might have to sell some of my top secret stash of parts for those. here are my bonneville tires i got at hershey
I love my 18" milk truck wheels! They give my car a totally different look and it will with yours too.
Wheel vintiques makes wheels that have windows in the center like a 40 ford wheel but they come in 18's maybe 20's They made the first set for Scott at blu collar customs, I think they are in production now? Its a kool alternative and look period correct not sure on the price. Dave Hitch FBBF
Here is a pic of my old 36 chev pickup 18's on the front are nissan murano spares 5 on 4.5. The rears are the murano spare centers welded into 20 inch hoops.
Why not run the wires out back on the 18" wheels? Plenty of Hot Rods did it in the 40's including Doug Harlet's (his were 16" but he ran indy tires like yours). I think the wires look rad and you could even cover them up with with a cap if you wanted to change them up.
if on a budget, these aluminum repops will do it: http://www.allamericanwheel.com/milk.html here is a thread to read. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=101394 those Firestones you have look like original Indy race tires... they are super thick ply and heavy, best used in racing only. you'll see some lakes race cars still running the old Indy and Bonneville Firestones.
