Howdy I believe this is a ST 602 Sun Tach. Do I need a sender for it? it has 4 wires- red yellow and green in a light brown insulation and a single gray wire. Cheers Tony
Take the tach out of the cup, the terminals will be marked as to where they go. Also on the back it will tell you whether or not you need a transmitter.
The only way you're gonna know which tach you have for sure is to take the tach out of the cup. It's no big deal, take the two acorn nuts off and pull it out. The 502 and 602 have about the same face, 502 takes a transmitter, 602 doesn't (I think). The tachs that take the transmitter have a positive and a negative wire coming off the tach and a wire going to the light. That's all. The one piece tachs have a power wire, light wire, wire to the coil, and ground wire. This is off the top of my head, so take it for what it's worth (not much). Larry T
So anouther related question, on the ones that dont need a sender, are they switchable for 4,6, and 8cyl??
