  1. Do you have a deadline for it or are you just going along with it? Any other big plans for it? Looks great already!

  6. So this Wednesday was kind of different from are usual Wednesdays. Basically, I'm trying to get this 52 Belair done for Christmas, and I had to work late tonight on it. So I asked if the Clutch Poppers would be willing to give me a hand, and they all agreed to. I wasn't going to make them work on my cars with out me, and I was not willing to take the night off the belair. I started on the car 18 days ago, and since it has a had a 4 link put in with a moser 9" rearend, the front had a cobbled up half finished mustang II, that is now finished and working properly. The entire car now sits on an Accuair air management system. The 216 6 cly is long gone and replaced with an early 327 and a turbo 350. The car is in the finishing stages now, and thanks to club for helping me tonight, I should achieve my deadline of Friday.

Here was the car after I left off tonight to go meet the guys at the New West. Hot Beef was the special tonight.

By buddy Bryan has been helping me out at the shop lately. Bryan and I have been best friends since Grade 3. We started with hot wheels, revel model kits and BMX bikes, now we build real cars. He has been helping on the belair all day, and half the night for the last 2 weeks.

Charlie started by mounting the Rad, and I started hooking up the throttle linkage.

    The checklist....

Dave cut out the transmission tunnel for the shifter, and modified the shift boot to fit.

    Reaming some holes...

Johnny and Fat Dave teamed up and bled the brakes.

Sasha came by as usual to photograph everything.

    Brakes done, and throttle done.

Shifter done... now the carpet can go back in.

I took a bunch more pictures, but for some reason their gone off my Camera? Anyways, Dave also switched out all the bulbs to 12V, Bryan modified the brake light switch to work with the new pedal, and Johnny also hooked up the choke cable to the middle stromberg.

On another note, anyone need any Grand Prix parts? Dave's daily driver 2001 Grand Prix bit the dust last night. Dave called me around 9pm and Charlie and I had to go tow his burnt up car back to the shop.

    Battery?

    Anyways, that was our night....

Good luck on the 52. Guess you didnt need to cut out the rear wheel wells and drive shaft tunnel? Hope you post up some finished pics. Would love to see them. Oh and somebudy needs to clean up all that white stuff on the ground...it could be slippery

Dave needs to step up to a nice prius.

That Belair should move out smartly with a tri-power 327. So who takes the pics we see here, Lee or Sasha?

Having fun doing something you love, it just doesn't get any better then that, hot rods, customs and gourmet food. Hell, you must be in hot rod paradise and to have a boss like Fred!

    1. Die in wool Ford guys are going too **** with the use of a GMC distributor. This is true hot rodding making things work together.

    2. I would **** can using an amp meters again, too much voltage running in the big wire, have the wire touch something and your gauge is toast. I would use an voltage meter gives better info on what's happening.

    3. Buy from Speedway with caution, you never know what your going to get in quality.

    4. Easy on the gay stuff you don't want the gossip to start. ha, ha :D

I wrote down all your terminology on putting in the front window on the '51 Fleetline, I'll see if it works on my '52 Fleetline.

  17. Hey everyone... so, this will be the last Clutch Popper Wednesday until next year, so you all better enjoy it.
Tonight we met down at the ol' New West. Fried egg and Cheese samiches were the special. Pretty tasty!

When we got back we set up Johnny's ch***is next to the Tig welder and Dave and I finished up the last of the welding.

Tig welding on the floor is hard... Charlie hogged the welding table all night porting heads...

Dave finished up the notches for the ladder bars.

After all the Tig stuff was Dave and Johnny moved the frame out of the way and I finished welding the mounts on the rear end.

    Fitting the pedals...

I learned a new feature on my Camera... Panoramic!

Pedals needed a little bit of tweaking...

And at the end of the night Johnny's frame went back in it's corner....

Dave wanted to share a video for you guys this week. His mom gave him one of these for Christmas.

Dave had better lay off the girlie magazines or he may get confused on what his tug-toner is!

Happy new year to the Clutch Poppers. That panaramic shot looks great. It would make an excellent poster. I'd buy one.

You don't get forearms like these by going to a gym!

  25. Depends on their mood. I've driven some pretty obnoxious cars and never had a problem. It mostly depends on how your behaving behind the wheel, I've got in more trouble with a bone stock car than I ever have driving a hot rod.

Took me a few days to catch up. Love what's going on. I won't miss a week now.
I think the Tug Toner is going to be the new thing. Who has time to go to the gym when there are cars to build.

Lee, that panoramic feature is the cat's ***. You will find all sorts of opportunities for that once the rod season heats up again.

As far as Dave and his new "toy", ummmmmm, yeah he's looking more ripped already.

  29. i can't wait guys!!!
