I know there is a thread with pics but I would like see pics with the amount of chop listed. Im leaning toward 4" on mine but still havent cut yet Thanks Guys Elroy
elroy post a pic of what you have. also, how tall are you? bubba67 - PU looks great but, want to see it when seats and steering wheel are in it and you sitting in it.
4 out of back and 3-3/4 out of the front on this one, they look funny to me when they are chopped strait, it sounds funny that 1/4 can make a difference but trust me it does. jeff
Here's a 4" straight chop that I had done several years ago. The rear window was only chopped 2" by taking a bit of metal above & below it, made driving a bit nicer when you can see everything.
nice looking truck bubba, i had to do a double take! the blue one was cut 6" and the one in metal is 4"
Here's mine with a touch under a 6" haircut. I dropped my dash 3/4" to get a little better visibility.
I chopped my first one 2.5" not enough, second one 4". (Oct. 05 R&C) For my size it was to much but it did look good, My current one is 3 and I like it. I'm 6.2 X 260, I shouldn't be building another truck!
Bubba Looks great,Hope to see it at next years Toys for tots at Waynes I have a 34 cab for sale chopped 6in check my album for pics, Thanks Lucky
Here's mine with a (I believe) 4 inch chop on it. Might come a touch lower to clean up some poor welds and cut gaps by the previous owner..
Wow bubba your truck has the look. I will try to post a couple pics tonight. Im 5'2" soo i could live with anything. I just think the "right" chop looks like a bad*** flattop on a marine too high and hes gomer pyle. My parts pile is 34 cab, hood, grille 40 banjo with stock drums and QC 35 wire wheels 21 studwith truck 4speed 1945 overhaul 55 f100 frt brakes with spacers for wire wheels f1 shock mounts 40 spindles with bolt on arms 32 steel frt fenders 40 split wishbone I will soon build a 32ish frame
this is Scott Hammon's 32, chopped 4" cowl stretched 4" and the body set back on the frame 4". Was a drag racer so that's why the body relocation. I know it's 4" because we used masking tape for measurements and all we had was 4" tape. Mick
Your old truck was a big inspiration to me when I was forming my vision of what my blue '33 would look like !
