Titus did a fantastic job with the car, now it's time for his wife to work her magic on the top and interior.

    Here's the car:

The running boards are white tuck & roll with baby blue piping. The top will be done to match. The carpet will be baby blue. The question is, go all white with baby blue piping on the seats and door panels or white with baby blue inserts?

All white with blue pipe is my vote. With that much color, too much is close at hand.

I would agree if it was a coupe or roadster with less "mass" of upholstery. Would it be too much white, looking into the car?

Can you find the upholstery thread that showed a bunch of styles? I can't think of what words to find the one I remember. It had a mix of both styles you listed.

    Nice car.

I'm thinking just the opposite. Rather than a cohesive mass of white, I'm afraid with baby blue inserts in might look like a patchwork quilt by the time all was said and done. Also, with a plain white top insert and running boards it would carry the same theme throughout. The last thought is that with the baby blue outside and in the inserts inside, the two had better be a dead bang match, 'cause otherwise you would see the difference from space!

Agood friend of mine taught me years ago, "simple is hard" I'd rather error to simplicity! Yes, truly cool car, one of my favorites of the last year!

The way i see it theres so much blue on the outside i think the inside should be a polar opposite.

the blue carpet is gonna have white edging on it

the garnish mouldings and dash are all going to be blue.

so i think blue piping dash and garnish mouldings will look good with all the white around it!

but Adam already knows thats what i want him to do!:)

Haha . . . and you are very influential. Titus is hinting at the fact that he has swayed me towards all white. All these 20 some odd years I had the car, I've had white with baby blue inserts in my head. Hard to shake it I suppose.

It is satin now, but will be blown apart in the next couple years for shiny baby blue. I'm enjoying the satin for now.

Sometimes the wind the artist up and get out of the way method works best of all.

I'm inclined to go with the carry the theme all the way though the car though.

I do think that is going to be one of my favorite Model A sedans on the Hamb when it's done though. That car has 50's/60's high school dream rod written all over it.

My line of thinking as well. Easy to over-do it, and that's a great looking car!

  14. I'd go all white roof and white inside, you've got enough baby blue in that car already....just my opinion.

if it was me i'd be looking at mainly white with maybe a darker blue insert,
i love the way your car looks, but i think with exactly the same colours used on the inside it might look a little too matchey-matchey?! for want of a better phrase!

  16. My vote is for white on the exterior stuff.
Dark blue upper sections with white on the lower of the seats and door cards, dark blue carpet.

I was all for the baby blue inserts but.. After reading some of the others' opinions, I think they're right about just going with the all white interior. No matter what you pick, your sedan is still gorgeous.

I too think an all white r and p interior would be a great contrast to the mostly blue exterior. Dark blue carpeting just so it will stay somewhat clean underfoot.

There used to be a yellow 57 Chevy running around here with an all white r and p interior and it was striking. Probably fun to keep the white clean, but really sharp. One thing that helps is if they use top grade upholstery material, that seems to show the dirt less and clean up better than the cheaper stuff.

I think all white, no blue piping or inserts would be what I would like. Maybe just the blue carpets, and the dash body color with white pinstripes and knobs.

white or a slightly off white, but agree with the others no blue piping and go with the blue carpet, dash body colour with white and dark blue pinstripe

How about some dark blue crushed velvet for that 70's traditional look......:)

I'd say all white with the blue piping. But then my Dad bought 2 brand new cars in the late 70's that he special ordered from the factory with all white tuck & roll interiors!! His ran his 53 F-100 for YEARS with the all white tuck and roll too. It seems like people are afraid of the all white, or just follow the herd with the color with white insert look.

definitely white with soft blue/baby blue piping. I like the darker blue carpet w/white piping idea. Keep it simple. I love your tudor.

I dig the 3-window pic posted ... but I think if you go red, (or another color) it has to tie in with something - on that example, it's the engine block and hub cap details ... works great on that car. Not sure how it'd work on yours though.

    that there's my 2 cents.
