I won 2000 off too. and the shop is just up the road. I have a hemi that needs building waiting to go in one. just have to get the wife on board first. she read the e-mail and was like oh well sucks for you and I said we'll wait till christmas is over to talk about this

I got a similar call recently. A few months prior, my buddy talks me into buying chance on a still life by some well known regional artist..the money goes to their art league. So, a few months later, I get this call from my buddy, all excited..he says "Hey, do you remember that chance you bought for the still life??!!" Giddily I say.. "Well, hell yeah!" He says...."I won it!" ...Click.

 

There will definately be a build thread. I'm getting lots of local help from some of my mentors...Mike Brown, Ted McCord, Charlie Smith, Paul Shultz, Kenny Stroud, Howard Tribby, and THE man...Mr. Bennie Osborn. I'm so excited and ready to get started.

I just received an email from him.... $2000 gift cert. as well towards a dragster. Wasnt planning on dumping $2000 more to get a stage 1 chassis, but now im thinking... Dont know what to do. Building a dragster is a huge commitment. Ive got the space and the cash to get the chassis here, but just not sure about the rest! any suggestions?

I'm so excited. Ready to get started. Now, I'm in the collecting parts and accessories mode. I think when I pull the motor out of the 40, I will rebuild it and use it to start. Carborated on alcohol at first. I really need more seat time. Doubt I will have it ready by the HAMB drags or even the Duck drags next fall. It will probably take me a year or so to gather parts. I guess I have decided to sell my blown T bucket. That should help buy most of the parts I need. Sucks cause I love that car. But the 40 pickup has been with me through think and thin. Know of anyone wanting a blown 23 T?
