Was wondering if any members have had any luck with the Accel HEI Corrected Distributor Cap? Looks like a great idea to help clear potential wire crosses and clean out the jumble of wire having to route under and across the distributor... looking to add one on my 350HO GMPP crate motor powered street rod so just looking to see if there are any good or bad issues to be aware of.
Those caps have been out for a number of years. The caps were made by a company called Crossfire. The're just like any other cap made except inside the cap at the top it was covered with epoxy so you couldn't see how they did it. Mine worked good for a number of years. It really did clean-up the wiring appearance.
I don't know about the Accel but I have a crossfire on my sedan and haven't had any problems at all. IMO it cleans it up a bit.
No it's not Billet specialties. It's a run of the mill aluminum oval with a couple ribs, I picked it up at a swap meet.
